Re the Wales Activity Mapping: very useful. How does it portray the temporal dimension please? For example different recreational usage of the coastal & marine environment during the tidal cycle and changing usage with the seasons?
@Alec (PCF) Thanks for the presentation, very interesting! Is there any scope to include monitoring activities using satellite data, gps etc., also updating system to visualize data relationships (e.g. graphs) alongside the GIS maps?
Alongside informing communities about the impacts of climate change-is their an imperative to facilitate communities to be able to express this to decision makers.Ensuring government action that isappropriate to the scale of this problem?
Alec Denny from Peter Evans: Have you tried more quantitative surveys of marine activities. Over the last 10 years we've undertaken surveys in Cardigan Bay to produce density maps and seasonal/annual trends of different activtiies.
Hi Alec - Great Talk today - it would be really helpful if you could share a link to your work on Potential recreational impacts on MPA Features - if at all possible - is there a report which summarises the findings?
Hi Harriet, responding on behalf of Alec, the report on potential recreational impacts on MPA features is provided in the report using the first link below. I'd be happy to respond to any further queries, having led this work at GoBe Consultants on behalf of PCF. The second link provided is the overall reports page with other studies completed.
